The new season at the market has already started for us last Saturday, even now in times of the corona virus crisis. We are back to the beautiful little farmer’s market in Prenzlauer Berg at Seelower strasse, every Saturday from 10-4pm. From now on, you will find us there. We sell extra virgin olive oil directly by one farm in Southern Peloponnese (new harvest 2020), which arrived few days ago in Berlin. As we already announced, soon, we are about to sell a special soap made also in Laconia region with the finest quality of olive oil. The market sells also good wines, amazing quality of fresh greens, salads, vegies and even has a stand of special salami. Our new product, as we already wrote in a previous post is soap made with extra virgin olive oil from Laconia region. It will arrive in Berlin in about a month from now. If you want to pre-order please contact us. Zoe Soap is a small workshop in the south part of Peloponnese, between two mountains Taygetos and Parnonas. We produce olive oil soaps, ointments, liquid soap, lip balms using extra virgin olive oil, the “liquid gold” of our region. We collect our herbs from the two mountains and we collaborate with local producers for our honey and beeswax. We make everything with care and respect to the environment. None of our products is tested in animals or contains any preservatives. We use only essential oils, zests, flower petals, and herb teas. Welcome to paradise. This is the Andrianos farm where our olive oil comes from. Located in Southern Peloponnese, in an area called Laconia. Turn your sound on to hear the concert of birds. With Berlin Oil Connection, we import extra virgin olive oil from a farm in Southern Greece. The Andrianos farm is located in Laconia, around 60 kilometres from Sparta. Every year we bring pure olive oil from one harvest from this farm to Berlin. Because it comes from a single farm and from one of the best growing regions in the world, it has a very low acidity, which gives an intense taste but means it is not burning in the mouth as you maybe know from farmer's oil of other regions. Dear supporters of Berlin Oil Connection The new harvest of olive oil is coming to Berlin soon. Extra virgin, Koroneiki, one harvest, from one farm in Southern Greece. We want to have a pre-order system for you. This will guarantee you a good price this year. As you know our little import connection Greece-Berlin is growing, this year we double the amount we bring. This has grown far beyond a network where we mostly sell to friends. We grow as a company and are also trying new things with farmer's markets and broader public sales beyond our initial network. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, that's for sure. Therefore, from today on, we would like to share some ideas as well as short stories on our blog to give you inspiration, how to use a variety ingredients in order to make your breakfast better and of course tastier. In fact, when we say we love olive oil we mean it. We use it almost for everything. For example with scrambled eggs. Chop half an onion in little pieces and a green paprika, add a little of extra virgin olive oil (yeah, if the olive oil is extra virgin is nothing wrong to fry with it and it is more tasty than butter) and fry them just for few minutes. Then add the egg mix (additionally with a little milk). The trick for making perfect scrambled eggs is whisking the eggs before cooking them.
