Besides the extra virgin olive oil of my farm, several friends visit me at Schillermarkt in Schillerkiez at the district of Neukölln exclusively to get mountain tea (from Mount Parnonas), a sort of tea of exceptional quality and famous worldwide. Especially the tea from mount Parnonas has a very high reputation. People who often visit the mountain from all over Greece, it's the first thing they look to procure. There is even an old saying in Laconia that goes: “gather tea on the mountain of Parnon and oregano on Taygetus”. The older generations knew well that the mountain tea from Parnon is special. The same goes for me, of course. You see, I grew up with mountain tea. There are many times I remember my grandmother when I was a child, when every time I had a cold she would brew mountain tea from Parnon and serve it to me with local fir honey from the mountain and lemon she...
As I already mentioned in previews posts, in these difficult times, networking among farmers is super important if we want to sustain high quality agriculture in Europe. Definitely it is not an easy task due the climate conditions and high costs.
Few weeks ago, I got the following beautiful pictures from my friends of the Flämingo farm project in Brandenburg. They got a bottle of the latest harvest as a present from a friend of theirs who visited my stand at Herrfuthplaz market. With little post, I would like to thank them for all their support all the years of the existence of Berlin Oil Connection...
The Christmas season has already begun in Berlin. The city is full of people and the Christmas markets certainly create a beautiful atmosphere. That's why the Berlin Oil Connection will be at the Saturday market in Schillerkiez all month long, even shortly before New Year's Eve. So you have the opportunity to give as a gift a bottle of extra virgin olive oil or whatever you wish. If you can't make it the market on Saturday, you can stop by the Café Laidak (Boddinstrasse 42) in Neükolln daily from 3pm to 6pm. I will be happy to meet you in person.
Soon I will post about Christmas special boxes for your gifts.
You can also find us in other locations. For that you can check here: https://berlinoilconnection.de/en/sie-finden-uns-unter/...
If you live around the area of Neukölln, then you are probably one of our neighbors. Every Saturday we attend the weekly market "Schillermarkt '' in Herrfurthplaz. It is just 10 minutes walk from laidak (boddinplatz) where we store our olive oil and many people who visit our stand which is next to the big Church, we already know each other from various activities in the area, such as a walk at tempelhoffer feld (ex-airport), or simply from the next table with drinks at bars or restaurants in Neukölln.
However it is not only that you know us from the neighborhood, but also that the atmosphere of the market is perfect. Besides us there is the Portuguese friend with the nice food and the guys with the African cuisine. Our friend with the ceramics, the guys with the perfect cheese and the Berlin friend with the high quality German-style bread. We also could not fail to point out the multi-ethnic atmosphere...
