Dear Friends of Berlin Oil Connection
The harvest of the new year has just begun for us in our field in Southern Laconia. Soon the first olive oil will be produced, and we will know its characteristics. Everything seems to have started normally. Although in recent years the weather conditions have changed, for now, it does not seem to be happening in our field. As every year, this year we will bring to Berlin the high-quality extra virgin olive oil from our field for all of you. Our oil is produced separately at the mill, which is why we always know that its quality can be guaranteed for all of you. This year we expect that the 5-liter canisters will arrive in Berlin in early February 2025. We could perhaps bring the 5-liter canisters earlier, but the problem is that the olive oil needs some time in our barrels. The reason is that we do not filter the olive oil so that it does not lose its flavor, vitamins, and other characteristics. This is the case with every cold-pressed olive oil. However, the wait is worth it because this year we expect a good production.
To meet the significant expenses of transporting it to Berlin, every year at this time I ask for your help. I am launching a pre-order campaign that assists me both financially and organizationally. It is particularly important for me to know how many five-liter canisters I need to bring to Berlin this year, because last year the demand was very high from friends who buy from me personally, as well as at the Saturday market. As in previous years, this campaign is starting again this time, and I invite you to contact me if you know how much olive oil you need for your family or home annually.
Another important issue that I want to communicate with you is that last year’s oil from our field is starting to run out. But I have found a solution that I think you will like. I know how important it is for you to have a bottle of good olive oil in your kitchen every week. That’s one of the reasons you come to the market every Saturday, in addition to the beautiful atmosphere and beautiful people. That’s why I decided to ask a good friend of the project to supply me with extra virgin olive oil, which he also extracts separately at his mill and is certified organic. It is extra virgin olive oil from the Mani region of Laconia, which is also famous worldwide. As with my olive oil, my friend’s olive oil will have his name, the area where his field is located, and that it comes directly from him without any intermediaries. In other words, he will have his own separate label and not mine. That way you know all the details. That is, after all, my philosophy. To bring to Berlin the best I can directly to the farmers of Laconia (South Peloponnese) and sometimes not only.
One last thing I wanted to inform you about is that they are already on their way to Berlin, excellent quality organic herbs from Mount Parnon. Next week, you can find oregano, rosemary, bay leaves, and a variety of other herbs in the Schiller market. Those of you who want to get some herbs along with the olive oil pre-order can write to me.
For this year’s pre-order campaign, you need to send me a message at info at berlinoilconnection.de with your name, your order, and a contact phone number so I can call you when the pallet with the canisters arrives. I will contact you by email for the rest.
I wish you a good start to winter with those you love and respect.
